How Annular Cutter works?
Annular cutters are commonly used for making holes in pipes, tubes and other irregularly shaped objects. They're usually used in pretty heavy duty applications like bridge building, steel work and ship building, but can also be used for household work on steel and other thick or hard surfaces. Annular cutters are different from most cutters in that they do not have a center to them. Instead, they drill with the outer edges, making holes much more even and lessening resistance.
Magnetic drill presses are a pretty common choice to use with annular cutter bits. Portable magnetic drill presses work best because they can be easily used at all kinds of angles. To use them, though, the piece you are drilling must be at least 3/8ths of an inch thick. If you use it to drill through pipe, you will need a pipe adapter accessory to support the drill press so it is strong enough.
